Our First UGC sponsored two-day International Conference on "Perspectives of the Press: From 19th Century to the Present" was jointly organized by department of History & department Journalism and Mass Communication on 6th & 7th March 2009. The event saw a host of eminent academicians pour in. Our distinguished resource persons included Muntassir Mamoon, Dr. Soumitra Sekhar, of Dhaka University, Bangladesh; Sri Sohrab Hasan , Assoc. Editor, The Daily Jugant; Smt. Swati Bhattacharya, Senior Editor, Anandabazar Patrika, Kolkata; Prof. Susnata Das, RabindraBharati University; Sri Anjan Basu, Executive Editor, SambadPratidin, Kolkata; Sri Sumit Mitra, Senior Journalist; Prof. Ashis Kumar Das, RabindraBharati University, Kolkata; Prof. Amitabha Chatterjee, Purulia, W.B.; Prof Manju Chattapadhyay, President, Paschim Banga Itihas Samsad among others.

The College arranged several academic
programmes for the celebration of its Golden Jubilee Anniversary. The
Departments of Anthropology, Botany, Zoology departments of the college
in association with the Department of Anthropology, West Bengal State
University, Barasat, organized a UGC sponsored National Conference on
"Biodiversity: Interrelationship between Flora, Fauna and Human" on 29th
and 30th September 2013.
The eminent resource persons included

Anthropology Unit, Indian, Statistical Institute, Kolkata during
2012-13; Professor Mitashree Mitra, SOS in Anthropology, Pt. Ravishankar
Shukla University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh ; Professor S.K. Barik,
Professor, Centre for Advanced Studies in Botany, North-Eastern Hill
University, Shillong, and Dr. M Prasad: NBPGR, New Delhi. The
proceedings of the Conference were published as a book with ISBN number.

The Reclus's ideology on the study of humans included predominantly human participation where people act or function accordingly in the nature-scape which may be termed milieu. It is our pleasure to mention here that our college supports academic milieu with the celebration of knowledge. This celebration reached a grand scale on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the college in the year 2014. Every heart and soul associated with the college came together on this eve to venerate the past, support and applaud the present, and envisage the future. The occasion also witnessed a book exhibition organized by the college.
