Departmental Highlights
UGC sponsored National Conference - "Biodiversity: Interrelationship between Flora, Fauna and Human", held on 29th and 30th September 2013, jointly organized by depts. of Zoology, Botany, and Anthropology, West Bengal State University.
Dr. Suman Chakrabarty has been granted UGC- Minor Research Project "Household Food Security and Nutritional Status of the Rabha tribal Community in Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal: A Micro level Study" with a budget of 1.5 lakhs.
Dr. Suman Chakrabarty has advised local authorities (like BDO, SDO, Panchyat Pradhan) regarding the socio-economic development of studied communities during fieldwork in different parts of West Bengal like Birbhum, Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri and Purba Medinapur districts.
