MRINALINI DATTA MAHAVIDYAPITH, IN SPITE OF BEING LOCATED ON THE FRINGES OF THE CITY, PROUDLY ENJOYS THE PATRONAGE OF BOTH STATE GOVERNMENT AND LOCAL ADMINISTRATION.
has shown keen interest in the development of our college. Despite his busy schedule, he participates in the major events organized by our college and keeps motivating us with his words of inspiration. We feel truly honoured that Prof. Ray appreciates the growth of the college and has munificently sanctioned Rs.7,50,000 in the financial session, 2013-14 and again, in 2014-15 from the MP LAD Fund for the overall development of the college.
We are extremely fortunate to have Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Minister of State, Dept. of Health and Family Welfare, and Minister of Law and Judicial Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal, and MLA, Uttar Dum Dum Constituency as the President of our Governing Body. With a vision to make Mrinalini Datta Mahavidyapith a premier institute of learning and scholarship, Smt. Bhattacharya plays a leading role in the expansion of the college. She has generously granted a sum of Rs.3, 00,000 from her MLA LAD Fund for the welfare of the college.
As part of Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya's outstanding endeavour, the college has secured a land of 112 Cottahs (42+70 Cottahs in two plots) in Fatullapur for building its Second Campus. This entire stretch of land has been given to the college on the basis of Long Term Settlement (LTS) for 99 years in lieu of a token 'salami' of Re 1/ and an annual rent of Rs.99/ @ Re.1/ annum for 99 years by the Govt. of West Bengal.
The institution participates in the local administration by maintaining a close contact with the North Dum Dum Municipality, Birati. The college extends support to the local municipality by providing land for the installation of heavy water pumps through which arsenic free water is supplied to the locality. The institution has been exempted from paying Municipal Tax since 2005. The scope of improvement has increased manifold due to this symbiotic relationship that the college shares with the local Municipality.
